We recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of our partnership.
(Cake by Cheryl Zimmer)
In 10 years, Connolly & McNamara has grown from a firm of two partners supported by six staff to a firm of two partners supported by 21 staff members of whom 11 have professional designations including CA, CGA and CFP. We are also qualified as a training office for CA students.
Our progressive and flexible work arrangements have allowed us to hire top tier professionals who want to work in a challenging work environment where personal needs are respected. As a result, there are few firms our size with the same depth of professional staff and resources.
We have invested significantly in new technology such that we are now a leading CA firm in the area of paperless technology use. We implemented a quality control process two years before it was made law by our governing body because we recognized the need and benefit of a high reporting standard. We not only meet but exceed the annual professional development standards set by our governing body.
During the past ten years we have grown primarily through referrals from other clients, lawyers and financial advisors. We take referrals seriously and strive to uphold the trust and confidence placed in us by the referral source.
We recognize that one of the greatest challenges facing older CA's is the succession of their practice and the realization of value. We concluded that as a result of our own inherent strengths as a firm, resulting from the successful implementation of new technology and processes, we are well suited to assist with the succession needs of small local firms who lack an exit strategy and orderly succession for their clients.
In March 2010, Connolly & McNamara welcomed Mr. Michael Atwood, C.A., Mrs. Kathe Atwood, and their clients to its practice (Press Release). The arrangement provided a smooth transition for the Atwoods as part of their retirement planning. Connolly & McNamara were able to tap into their understanding of the issues and concerns faced by small business to offer the Atwoods a transition plan that suited their needs.
If you are a small practitioner and would like to explore the possibility of succession or to just discuss your future plans then please feel free to contact either Gary Connolly or Robert McNamara.
