Gary Connolly, ca
Gary began his accounting career in 1978, starting in industry with Cadbury Schweppes Powell in St Catharines. A professional life in Public Accounting began in 1981 articling with a Toronto CA Firm while at the same time completing a university degree at night. Gary received a Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree from York University in 1983 followed by a Chartered Accountant designation in 1985. He moved to the Ottawa Valley in 1989 with his wife and children to again take a job in industry as Controller. This brought him in close proximity to the Ottawa area and the eventual return to Public Accounting in Kanata. Gary has been with the firm since 1990, and enjoys being a professional advisor to business owners and individuals. His expertise extends to all the services provided by the firm. Having taken the CICA In-Depth Tax Course, he has a particular interest in corporate reorganizations, purchase and sale of a business, use of trusts, estate planning, corporate and personal tax planning and succession planning. Gary receives a continuous stream of referrals from clients and business associates. This is testimony to the excellence of his work and to his caring way of listening to clients and meeting their needs.
Robert McNamara, ca
Rob graduated from Trent University in 1972 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. In 1973 he joined a CA firm in Peterborough, his home town, completed his accounting studies with evening courses at York and Ryerson, and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1978. Rob moved to Ottawa in 1979, accepting a position as controller of a truck leasing company, a move that led to a nearly twenty year involvement in the trucking and insurance industries. This provided a wealth of experience in financing, bank negotiations, sales and acquisitions, information systems, controllership, forecasting and cash flow planning. Married with two children, Rob and his family have made Stittsville home. Rob joined the firm in 2000 as a partner. Having seen the challenges facing businesses and individuals from the other side of the desk, Rob brings this perspective to clients of the firm. He has completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course and is responsible for assurance and compliance as well as tax engagements primarily with owner managed businesses. Friendly and approachable, Rob is dedicated to helping clients achieve their business and personal financial goals.
